Made on Monday

I've been rather busy since starting at the Stitch & Sew Studio.  It's been so much getting to know the studio members and the ladies who come for Sip & Sew and demo nights.   There is nothing like being around creative, inspiring people every day.

The only down side, if there is a down side, to working at the studio is not having as much time or energy to work on projects at home.  But sometimes inspiration is overwhelming and you just have to sew.  Here's what I did on my day off.

We had a box at the studio of some of the actual items photographed in Fabric-by-Fabric One-Yard Wonders.  I especially loved the bags.  The Monster Backpack is absolutely adorable.  The Retro Bag is on my list of things to make.  But it was the Charming Bag that I decided I needed to have right now.  I used quilting cotton, reinforced by a sturdy fusible interfacing, both from West Seattle Fabric Co.  The fun button is from Seattle Yarn.

There's a lot of tissue paper to wade through for the One-Yard-Wonder patterns.

Guiding this through the machine would have been too painful.  I chose to hand baste.
